On the 26th<\/sup> of June, 2024, Igor Alexandrovich Pankov delivered a lecture \u201cTravelling as a practice of education in sufism\u201d at Mayakovsky Library. The event was organized in the framework of the cycle of lectures \u201cThe Diversity of dimensions of contemporary sufi studies\u201d by Ibn Sina Foundation (Moscow) and Mayakovsky Museum (Saint Petersburg).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Igor Alexandrovich spoke on the philosophy of Sufism and the role of travelling in its teachings. He mentioned that travelling in Sufism corresponds to the principles of spiritual self-perfection and comprehension of the Absolute. He shared some stories from his own practical research and acquainted the auditory with the anthropological approach to studying Islamic practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
