On the 26th of September Anna Gromova delivered the lecture “Ancient Heritage in the Mass Culture of the Contemporary Iran” at the Centre of Oriental Literature of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Anna Gromova is the senior lecturer at the Department of Iranian Philology of the Institute of Asian and African Countries of M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lecturer spoke on the images of the ancient Iranian Achaemenid dynasty in the contemporary Iran, its reconstruction and actualisation. She disclosed about the reflection of the images of ancient Persian Tsars in media as well as mass and elite culture and its role in the historical memory of Iranians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lecture was organized and held in the framework of collaboration between Ibn Sina Foundation and the Centre of Oriental Literature of the Russian State Library.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
