On the 25 of October 2024 the master class by Dr. Hossein Ali Jafarian dedicated to the restoration of lacquered and oiled leather book bindings was held with the assistance of Ibn Sina Foundation in collaboration with the Oriental Cultural Centre of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Institute \u201cNur\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Hossein Ali Jafarian is the head of the Department of Restoration of the Library of the Majlis of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He thoroughly covered the issue of functions of book bindings and materials used in its restoration, as well as specific features of bindings in different schools, regions and epoches. A little bit later Dr. Jafarian practically showed the process of restoring a book binding, as well as answered the questions of master class participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
