These letters and documents are unique sources for the study of historical events that took place during this period, as well as the life and activities of various strata of Dagestan society. The thematic diversity of the letters and documents studied is quite rich. There are correspondence from the period of the Caucasian War, and letters covering issues of a regulatory and socio-economic nature, as well as official documents. The published materials are given with brief annotations translated from Arabic into Russian and accompanied by comments.
