The course of lectures on Urdu literature was held at the Centre of Oriental Literature from February 4 to March 25, 2025. Now it is available on the LectOrient platform<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The lectures were prepared and delivered by Lyudmila Alexandrovna Vasilieva, the Candidate of philological sciences and the senior research scholar at the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The course consists of five lectures, each one covers the key aspects of Urdu literature.<\/p>\n

  1. The lecture \u00abUrdu Language in the Flow of Time\u00bb is dedicated to the main stages of Urdu language development.<\/li>\n
  2. The lecture \u00abThe Rise of Urdu Literature. The Early Period (XIII-XV Centuries)\u00bb covers the link between Persian literary tradition and Urdu poetics.<\/li>\n
  3. The lecture \u00abSufism and Urdu Literature\u00bb depicts the influence of Sufism on the formation of Urdu artistic language.<\/li>\n
  4. The lecture \u201cMuslim Educational Movement in the Second Half of the XIX Century and Urdu Literature\u201d dicloses the interconnection between Urdu literature and sociocultural processes.<\/li>\n
  5. The final lecture \u201cThe Contemporary Literature in Urdu\u201d is dedicated to the modern trends in this literature.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The course of lectures by L.A. Vasilieva was organised and held with the help of Ibn Sina Foundation in cooperation with the Centre of Oriental Literature of the Russian State Library.<\/em><\/p>\n
