On May 15 a meeting with Andrey Vadimovich Smirnov, who is an academician from the Russian Academy of Sciences, a Doctor of philosophy, the first Deputy Director for Scientific Research, the head and the main research scholar of the Department of the Islamic World Philosophy of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, took place at the lecture hall of the media center\u00a0 of \u00abBiblio-Globus\u00bb Book Trade Center. The meeting was organised with the assistance of Ibn Sina Foundation and “Sadra” Publishing House.<\/p>\n

The event was held by his colleague Tatiana Geogievna Korneeva, the senior research scholar of the Department and the head of LectOrient educational center.<\/p>\n

The book \u00abWord and Meaning\u00bb by A.V. Smirnov and the monograph \u00abArabic Philosophy: the Past and the Future\u00bb by E.A. Frolova edited by A.V. Smirnov were also presented at the event. During the meeting colleagues discussed the structure of thinking, the power of a word and how Arabic philosophers used to resolve these issues.<\/p>\n

The event was beautified by santour melodies played by Amir Khatai, a musician from Iran.<\/p>\n

E.A. Frolova is a doctor of philosophical sciences, a senior research scholar of the Department of Islamic World Philosophy of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences. She is an author and editor of numerous books on Arabic Philosophy and Islamic Studies.<\/em><\/p>\n
