The series “Dialogue” itself was created in 2024.

First, this is the translation and research of the work “Instructions for Those Coinfused about Answers to Jews and Christians” by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah and the critical text of the treatise “The Path of the Heart to Comprehending the Lord” by Ibrahim al-Qabasi. Both works were accomplished by Faris Osmanovich Nofal, a research scholar from the Department of the Islamic World Philosophy of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The first book is a program apologetic work by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah (1292-1350) containing the results of seven centuries of Islamic-Christian and Islamic-Jewish dialogue. Translated into Russian for the first time, the treatise by Ibn Qayyim is provided by a preliminary research work, critical commentaries and a new review of sources and arguments used by this Sunni scholar, as well as by an index that helps readers to work with the text.

The book issue was approved and supported by the Kazan Orthodox Spiritual Seminary.

The second book contains a critical text of a monument of Samaritan mystical literature of the XVI century, the treatise “The Path of the Heart to Comprehending the Lord” by the Ibrahim al-Qabasi from Damascus. Published in original for the first time, the work of al-Qabasi demonstrates the dependence of some author’s concepts on the Arabic-Muslim religious context. By the way, his active reference to Mutaqallims, Arab Peripatetics, Ismailis and Sufis allowed the author to implement new context in the framework of Samaritan exegesis, this enriching Islamic thought of the XVI-XVIII centuries. Afterwards al-Ghazzal ibn Abu Surur (died after 1755) was referring to this Islamic mystical discourse several times, using commentaries to the Books of Genesis and Exodus.

The issue of the series was supported by the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The book was published based on the results of Ibn Sina Publishing Grant Competition-2025.

The series “Dialogue” started from publishing the work “Comparison of the Muslim Teaching on the Names of God with the Christian Teaching on Them” by G.S. Sablukov in 2024. Now the series includes three books. Each of them poses great value for the specialists in the area of religious studies, theology, culture and philosophy. It will also be useful for those who’re interested in interreligious controversy.

Two new books dedicated to religious dialogue were issued in the framework of the series “Dialogue” by “Sadra” Publishing House with the assistance of Ibn Sina Foundation.
