One of them contains the main ideas of Morteza Motahhari, a famous Iranian intellectual of the 20th century, and the other one represents a reflection on the Muslim spiritual legacy by Muhammad Iqbal, a recognized Pakistani thinker. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The first book is entitled \u201cMorteza Motahhari \u2013 a thinker of action\u201d. It contains the most interesting excerpts of M.Motahhari works published in Russian. These works deal with the most important challenges of the Iranian society of the day, that is the correlation of religious and national identity of the Iranians, establishing the principles of the Islamic ideology, the legal status of women in Islam, the Islamic ideal of a perfect human and interaction between science and faith in the context of Islam. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The book comprises an introduction written by Matem Al-Janabi, PhD in Philosophy, professor of the Peoples\u2019 Friendship University of Russia<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\">The second work is an English to Russian translation of one of Muhammad Iqbal\u2019s works. The translation comes with an introduction and annotations by M.T. Stepanyants, professor of the RAS Institute of Philosophy. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\"><span>\u00a0<\/span>\u201cThe reconstruction of religious thought in Islam\u201d is the major work of Muhammad Iqbal (1873\u20131938), which contains reflections on the Muslim legacy taking into account the political, social and economic challenges of the 20th century, modern scientific discoveries and philosophic knowledge. The translation and research of Iqbal\u2019s work are supposed to defy the Islam-related stereotypes that tend to underestimate the Islamic culture\u2019s potential for development, adaptation and improvement.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Two new editions have been added to the series \u201cIslam: classics and modernity\u201d.
