Theory and practice of the maqam art\u201d by G.B. Shamilli \u2014 is out of print. It was prepared for publication with the support of the State Institute of Art Studies of the Ministry of Culture, RAS Institute of Philosophy and the Ibn Sina Foundation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The four chapters and two appendices of the book describe the stable regularities of the human mind (relationships of the part and the whole, their contraposition and unification) in the theory and practice of the maqam art, which is an oral musical tradition preserved in Hebrew, Persian Arabic and Turkic languages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The annotated translation and research of Fakhr al-Din al-Razi\u2019s (12th-13th centuries) treatise on music, as well as the first edition of the Russian translation of a treatise on music by an anonymous author (\u201cMuhammad Nishapuri\u201d) deal with ontological issues and the methodology of the historical knowledge with due account for the differences in conceptualization procedures in the given traditions. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"EN-US\">The edition is intended for a wide range of experts and undergraduate students.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The 5th volume of the \u201cResearch\u201d subseries in\u00a0 \u201cThe philosophical thought of the Islamic world\u201d series \u2014 \u201cThe philosophy of music.
