The 1st International congress of the Eurasian Association of Iranists took place on 20-21 February 2019 in Saint-Petersburg. The congress was organized\u00a0 <\/span>by the RAS Institute of Oriental Manuscripts, the State Hermitage museum and the RAS Institute of Oriental studies. <\/span><\/p>\n

The representatives of the Ibn Sina Foundation, A.Ranjbari and A. Lukashev, made presentations at the congress. A book exhibition was set up in the \u201cLotosovaya sutra\u201d hall of the RAS Institute of Oriental Manuscripts. When the exhibition was over, all books were gifted to the Institute.<\/span><\/p>\n

The forum opening took place in the Hermitage theatre. The speakers included <\/span>Abuzar Ebrahimi Torkaman (Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance of the Islamic Republic of Iran)<\/span>, I.F. Popova (director of the RAS Institute of Oriental Manuscripts), Gahraman Soleimani (cultural attach\u00e9 of Iran in Russia), P.B. Lourier (chairman of the management board of the Eurasian Association of Iranists).<\/span><\/p>\n

Leading Iranists from Russia, Iran, Uzbekistan, USA, UK, Latvia and other countries presented their reports within the framework of four main sections: \u201cRelevant studies\u201d, \u201cMedieval Iran\u201d, \u201cIran and Syrian Christianity\u201d, \u201cReadings in the remembrance of O.F.Akimushkin\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n
