Ibn Sina Foundation with the assistance of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences published the new book “A Road to Kerbela”.
This is a work by the Iranian research scholar Golamhossein Zargarinejad translated into Russian in 2015 and issued by “Sadra” Publishing House under the title of “The Movement of Imam Husain and Uprising in Kerbela”.
“A Road to Kerbela” is a significantly revised edition that has been acknowledged as a scientific work. It was edited by D.V. Mikulsky, a Doctor of Historical Sciences and the Senior Research Scholar of the Department of Oriental Peoples Written Monuments of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and also scientifically edited by T.G. Korneeva, a Candidate of Philosophical Sciences, the Senior Research Scholar of the Department of the Islamic World Philosophy of the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
This book is a research work on the events of Kerbela and the murder of Prophet Muhammad’s grandson Imam Husain and his companions who uprised against Yazid, a corrupt and injust ruler of his time. The book also covers the destiny of his family members imprisoned in Kerbela. The author of the work investigates the reasons and the history of this uprising based on a huge variety of documental, religious, literature and other sources. The end of the book contains the names of Kerbela martyrs provided by the links to trustworthy medieval texts.
“A Road to Kerbela” became the 14th volume of the unique book series of the Foundation and “Sadra” Publishing House called “The Islamic World: History and Politics”.
