“Sadra” Publishing House issued the second volume of the monograph “Essays on the Theory of the Persian Language” by V.B. Ivanov. The project was implemented with the assistance of Ibn Sina Foundation.
The author of this work is a Doctor of Philological Sciences, the Head of the Department of Iranian Philology of the Institute of Asian and African Countries of the Moscow State University Vladimir Borisovich Ivanov. He is well known in the scientific society as the collector of the three-volume “Large Persian-Russian Dictionary” and the author of the “Persian Language Textbook” and the first volume if the “Essays…”
The newly published book covers the key areas of the modern Persian language: morphology and syntaxis. The work is especially valuable thanks to the critical analysis and comparison of Russian Iranian Studies and the Iranian grammar. The monograph is addressed both to research scholars and higher courses students studying the Persian language in the framework of the course “The Main Oriental Language Theory” and similar courses at other Russian universities.
