On June 10 the head of LectOrient educational platform T.G. Korneeva represented Ibn Sina Foundation at the small conference “A Word About Faith: Scientific Research Works and Fiction Books Inspiring to the National Unity” at the Moscow Islamic Institute. She presented educational and publishing projects of the Foundation.
T.G. Korneeva spoke on the role of books in establishing mutual understanding between cultures. She pointed to such examples as historical books issued by the Foundation and “Sadra” Publishing House, namely “Dagestani Arabic language Epistolary Sources and Documents of the Late 18th – early 20th Centuries” by Z.A. Magomedova; “Bulgar Chronicles, or Approaching [Ali] Ghari” by M.-A. Chukuri, A. Basaravi; “The History of the Second Muslim Parish of Moscow and Its Predecessors” by D.Z. Khairetdinov, etc. Ms. Korneeva demonstrated how those works shed light to Islamic culture and history. She underlined its role in forming national unity and religious dialogue.
T.G. Korneeva also presented LectOrient educational platform. In her opinion, this is the most actual form of sharing knowledge about the Muslim East. Courses and lectures dedicated to Islamic culture attract wide audiences and help mutual cultural enrichment.
Representatives of the Moscow Islamic Institute, the Moscow State Linguistic University, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims, the Interreligious Council of Russia and public organizations attended the conference.
The event was organized and held by the Moscow Islamic Institute, the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation, “Medina” Publishing House with the assistance of the Foundation for the Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education.
