Abstract
The supplemented edition of the monograph “Money in Islamic Economics” by H. Nazari, S.H. Mirjalili and P. Dawoodi covers and dicloses economical and social functions of money from the Islamic point of view, as well as religious and philosophical approach to money in Islam. The book contains information about economical laws in Islam applied to Islamic financial instruments and deals. Such notions as “haram”, “loan”, “credit”, “percent”, “usury”, etc are explained in the book. The authors also describe the historical context of money evolution both in the classical (Western) and Islamic econimical model. They pay s special attention to modern means of payment that are being used in Iran under sanctions: various types of cryptocurrencies and blockchain technologies, as well as to the specifics of their work in the Islamic financial system operating in the country. The book is addressed to a wide circle of readers including scientific community, specialists in the area of Islamic finances, university students and PhD students.
