On Friday, October 3, a master class by the Iranian artist miniaturist Hosein Esmati was held at the Orthodox Saint Tikhon Humanitarian University. This is the first joint project between Ibn Sina Foundation and this university.
The event was opened with the welcome speech of the President of Ibn Sina Foundation Hamid Hadavimoghaddam. He pointed to the importance of organising such meetings for interconfessional dialogue development, as well as expressed his gratitude to the leadership of the Orthodox Saint Tikhon Humanitarian University for cooperation and their help in arranging the master class.
In his introductory speach Hosein Esmati told to the students of the Orthodox Saint Tikhon Humanitarian University about the specific features of drawing Prophets and Imams in the Islamic culture, and after that he explained the nuances of the technique of working with ink. Under the guidance of the Iranian miniaturist students tried to draw the bird Simourgh.
At the end of the event the Scientific Director of the Foundation Andrey Lukashev thanked the Orthodox Saint Tikhon Humanitarian University leadership for their help in organising and holding the master class.
During the unofficial part of the event guests enjoyed a possibility to get acquainted with Hosein Esmati’s artworks exhibition and to talk with each other.
