On October 15 and 16, 2025, the international conference “Comparative Studies of the Islamic and Christian Ethics” took place in Qom (Iran). 15 research scholars in the area of Abrahamic religions from Russia and Iran discussed topical ethical problems.
The Russian delegation included the representatives of the Kazan Orthodox Spiritual Seminary (the Rector N.S. Kuznetsov, the Head of the Department of Islamic Studies V.N. Rogatin, an Assistant Professor of the Department of Islamic Studies E.S. Rogatina); the Orthodox Saint Tikhon Humanitarian University and the Moscow State University (an Assistant Professor of the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Theology and Philosophy). The visit and participation was organized by Ibn Sina Foundation with the assistance of Iranian partners – the Philosophy and Qalam Center and the Centre for Strengthening Belief and Religious Teachings. Participant selection was based on concourse; its results were published on September 23, 2025, at the web site of the Foundation.
In their speeches Russian and Iranian colleagues presented Christian and Muslim understanding of the main ethical issues and shared their opinions. It became a precious contribution into interconfessional dialogue.
The collection of articles will be published based on the results of the conference.
