The publication of the series of manuals “Persian Miniature. Let’s Draw Together” is finished. Recently two final parts of the series of practical manuals of the Iranian miniaturist Reza Badr al-Sama under the title of “Flower and Bird” and “Ornaments” were issued with the assistance of Ibn Sina Foundation. The first manual “People and Animals” was published in September 2025.
Under the guidance of the master Reza Badr al-Sama you will gradually learn to draw people, animals, birds and traditional ornaments, as well as to comprehend all the stages of creating a miniature from initial sketches to finished compositions.
Persian miniature is a unique artistic style that has been formed under the influence of rich Persian culture heritage and Oriental philosophy. It used to flourish at the era of spreading Islam in Iran, and now we observe a renaissance of this genre thanks to such masters as Hossein Behzad, Mahmoud Farshchian and Reza Badr al-Sama.
Ibn Sina Foundation has successfully cooperated with Badr al-Sama for several years. In 2022 the miniaturist visited Russia with a series of master classes organized by the Foundation at the Oriental Cultural Center of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences and at the Oriental Literature Center of the Russian State Library. The Foundation also regularly holds exhibitions of his artworks.
