On January 21 Stanislav Mikhailovich Prozorov celebrated his 88th birthday. S.M. Prozorov is an outstanding historian specializing in Arabic and Islamic studies, a co-founder of Ibn Sina Foundation, and one of those scholars who created the Leningrad (Saint Petersburg) School of Academic Islamic Studies.
Ibn Sina Foundation sincerely congratulates Stanislav Mikhailovich! We wish him to be in a strong health and spirit, and to accomplish new scientific achievements.
We consider it to be a great honor to cooperate with such a prominent scholar. The contribution into Russian science made by S.M. Prozorov is really impressive. The Foundation directly participated in publishing the second volume of his monograph “Islam as an Ideological System” (M.: Sadra, Vostochnaya Literature, 2016). And his encyclopedic dictionaries “Islam on the Territory of the Former Russian Empire” became a basis for emergence of the first Russian language Encyclopedia on Islam under the title of “Islamology”. Finally, without his assistance there would be no Ibn Sina Foundation!
