A fundamental treatise opening new horizons in studying Caucasian spiritual heritage was issued by “Sadra” Publishing House with the assistance of Ibn Sina Foundation. The book “Collection of Dissolved” (Majma’ al-Awbash) is the first complex research work on the life and heritage of an outstanding scholar and jurist Abu Bakr al-‘Aymaki (ap. 1711-1791).
The author of this book is Hidhri Gajievich Alibekov, a Candidate of Historical Sciences and a research scholar from the Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography of the Dagestani Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In his work he concentrates on the commented translation of the final ethical and didactic treatise by Abu Bakr al-‘Aymaki that includes sermons (khutbeh), written heritage, didactic poetry in Arabic and Avarian, as well as autobiographical essays.
This book is also unique due to its applications containing that’s epoch rare ego-documents: a traveller’s notes about two Hajjes performed in 1747 and 1761, as well as a mystical Sufi diary “Manamats” (“Dreams”). These materials have been published for the first time and are addressed to a wide scientific audithory.
The book became the tenth volume of the academic series “Written Monuments of Dagestan” issued by the Institute of History, Archeology and Ethnography of the Dagestani Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Previously research works by Z.A. Magomedova, M.M.Mammaev, as well as the collective monograph by R.S. Abdulmajidov, M.G. Shekhmagomedov and Sh.M. Khapizov, had been also published as a part of those series with the assistance of Ibn Sina Foundation and “Sadra” Publishing House. The project has been implemented in the framework of Ibn Sina Grant Program ( (№ 2025.02.16).
