On August 26 Ibn Sina Foundation took part in the International Conference “The Role of Ibn Sina in the Development of Medical Scienice: Scientific Works, Practice and Theory”.
The Scientific Director of the Foundation A.A. Lukashev presented the report “The Universalism of Avicenna as the Cornerstone of Ibn Sina Foundation Activities”. He told how the academic approach of this great scholar based on the interpreter tradition implemented n “Gondishapour Academy” and “Wisdom House” (Beyt al-Hikmah) became a role model for projects of the Foundation.
A book exposition held by the Foundation and “Sadra” Publishing House attracted a special attention, including the two volume “Healing. Theology” by Ibn Sina and the monograph “Ibn Sina (Avicenna)” by A.V. Sagadeev. The Foundation donated its books related to Abu Sina to the organizers of the event.
The conference was held for the second time by Embassies of Tajikistan and Iran in cooperation with the Russian University of Medical Sciences. Researh scholars, medical workers, Russian writers, the diplomatic corpus representatives and the members of the Public Council of the Embassy of Tajikistan participated in the event.
