Abstract
“Prison Cell Number 14” is the first Russian language edition of the memoirs of the outstanding religious and political leader of our time, the martyred Supreme Leader of Islamic Republic of Iran Seyyed Ali HosseinI Khamenei. These touching memoirs transfer us into the period of struggle against the Shakh regime, when the young theologist and devoted follower of Imam Khomeini used to be subjected to numerous arrests and pesecutions.
The severe reality of Iran before revolution is reflected in this book full of prison cells, interrogations, calamity and exiles. It discloses the inner world of the man whose strong faith and high spirit have changed the history of the whole country.
The book will be interesting both for specialists on the Middle East history and for those ones who wish to obtain a deeper understanding of the contemporary Iran based on the personal experience of its martyred Leader.
