On June 18, 2026, the ceremony of Eurasian Philosophical Award Presentation was held in Saint Petersburg on the platform of the IX Russian Philosophical Congress. About 1000 philosophers from 10 countries participated in the event. Awards were presented in ten nominations covering a wide spectrum of modern philosophical schools of thought, and were granted to reknown scholars and outstanding cultural figures.
Tawfiq Ibrahim won an award in nomination of “Foreign Philosophical Work Translation”. Mr. Ibrahim is a Doctor of Philosophical Sciences, a Professor, and the Senior Research Scholar at the Center for Arabic and Islamic Studies of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
He was awarded for his two volume translation of the work “Healing. Theology” by Ibn Sina, one of his most important texts. The book was published in 2024 with the support of Ibn Sina Foundation. The Eurasian Philosophical Award was established in 2023 with the assistance of the Presidential Cultural Initiatives Foundation of the Philosophical Community of Russia. It was granted in 2024 for the first time. Nowadays this is the only Russian philosophical award of the national and international level, as well as the only philosophical award among the BRICS countries. It should be noted that in 2025 another project of Ibn Sina Foundation also won the award in nomination of “Non-Western Philosophical Traditions Research”, namely that was the book “The History of Arab and Muslim Philosophy: Textbook and Anthology” under the edition of A.V. Smirnov.
