The first Russian edition of the memoirs of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei was issued by AST Publishing House in cooperation with Ibn Sina Foundation in the framework of the series “The XX Century. People and Destinies”.
“Prison Cell Number 14” is the first Russian translation of the memoirs of the outstanding religious and political leader, the Supreme Leader of Iran Seyed Ali Khamenei who used to rule the country in 1989-2026.
The book translated by A.P. Andryuskin is dedicated to the events of a dramatic period of struggle of Imam Khamenei against the Shakh regime, his imprisonments and persecution.
The severe reality of Iran before revolution is reflected in this book full of prison cells, interrogations, calamity and exiles. It discloses the inner world of the man whose strong faith and sublime spirit have changed the history of the whole country.
